Digital art, previously known as computer art, is any form of artistic work that uses technology during the creative process. Digital art doesn't need to be entirely computer-generated, it can be scanned or simply include some aspects created by technology. The prominence of digital art began in the 1950s, when artists and designers began using technological devices to create or manipulate pieces of work.

Digital art is made using various hardware, such as cameras and computer devices or tables, and software. There are many software programs available, such as Adobe Photoshop, to artists, photographers, videographers and designers.

Introducing your kids to digital art is a great way to encourage creativity while helping them get accustomed to using technology. Art provides an opportunity for children to express themselves and can also contribute positively to their development.

Digital art isn't just a way to get your kids into art, but it can also educate them and pave the way for them to become tech pros.

Hopefully after reading this you have gained a greater insight into, and understanding of, digital art and how it is helpful to children's development in computing. If you'd like further information on how digital art is beneficial to students' computing education, contact us!
